A Large or smaller creature you touch becomes a gray ooze. An unwilling target can make a Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns to end the effect and resume its normal form. A willing target can choose to become unwilling at any point of the duration and can make a saving throw at the end of its next turn after becoming unwilling. While under the effect of this spell, a creature retains its size, general shape, and alignment and its Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma ability scores but otherwise has the statistics of a gray ooze. If the spell ends because the duration elapses, the target is permanently transformed into a gray ooze.

At Higher Levels. If you cast this spell using a 6th-level slot, the target transforms into your choice of a gelatinous cube or an ochre jelly instead of a gray ooze. If cast using an 8th-level slot, the target becomes a black pudding instead of a gray ooze.
