Blood To Sap

6th-level transmutation

Casting Time: 1 standard action

Range: close 60 feet

Components: V, S, M (a piece of amber)

Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

Classes: druid, warlock

This spell causes one target creature’s blood to thicken and slow in its veins. An affected creature suffers excruciating pain and must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the target takes 28 (8d6) poison damage, is poisoned for the spell’s duration. On a success, the target takes half as much damage and is not poisoned. Creatures poisoned by this spell have their speed halved, are treated as having an AC of at least 18, and are immune to critical hits as though they were wearing adamantine armor.

Blood to sap can target only living creatures with a discernible anatomy and a bloodstream.
