Choose a humanoid you can see within range. The target must make a Constitution saving throw or become infused with a shard of the Void. For the duration, at the beginning of each of the target’s turns, it must choose to internalize the wave of energy rising within it or to release it. If the energy is internalized, the target takes 4d10 force damage. If the target chooses to instead release the energy, it takes no damage, but all creatures within 10 feet of it must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 4d10 force damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one.

If a creature is reduced to 0 hit points by this spell, it is disintegrated.

At Higher Levels. If you cast this spell using a 9th-level slot, no concentration is required.
