Cannons of Heaven

3rd-level conjuration

Casting Time:1 action

Range:500 feet

Components:V, S, M (a hand-sized miniature bronze cannon)

Duration:Concentration, up to 1 minute

A cloud in the shape of a 30-foot sphere appears in the sky anywhere from 50 to 100 feet above you at a point you choose. The spell fails if you can’t see a point in the air where the cloud could appear (for example, if you are in a room that can’t accommodate the cloud). Multiple metal cannons project out of the cloud, like a well-armed ship.

When you cast the spell, choose a 10-foot-radius area you can see within range.

The cannons fire upon that area. Each creature in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw.

A creature takes 3d10 bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. On each of your turns until the spell ends, you can use your action to call down another barrage of cannonballs in this way again, targeting the same area or a different one.

The cloud and cannons cannot be attacked, but can be dispelled.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 3rd.
