Concussion Bomb

2nd-level evocation

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: touch

Components: V, S, M (any spherical object the caster can throw)

Duration: concentration, up to 1 minute

Sometimes you just need a little boom.

When this spell is cast, you enchant one spherical object to explode after being thrown. As a bonus action, you can throw the object to a point within 60 feet, causing a shockwave in a 10-foot-radius from that point. Creatures within range must make a Constitution saving throw. A creature takes 2d6 force damage and is forced prone on a failed save. Creatures who succeed on the save take half damage and remain standing.

The enchanted object is destroyed in the blast. If the object is not thrown within one minute of the spell cast, the magic dissipates, and the object remains intact. The object may be thrown by another creature, but if the object moves over 60 feet from the caster before exploding, the magic dissipates.

At the GM’s discretion, objects which are particularly bad for throwing (such as a large inflatable ball) may give advantage on the saving throw to creatures in the spell’s radius.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can enchant one additional object for each slot level above 2nd. All objects must be thrown within one minute of the spell being cast. After one minute, the magic dissipates from any objects which have not been thrown.
