Conjure Abyssal Parasite

4th-level conjuration (Warlock)

Casting Time 1 action

Range Touch

Components V S M (a piece of material from the abyss)

Duration Instantaneous

With a touch you summon forth a creature from the depths of the abyssal waterways and let it loose in your target. The target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a successful saving throw, the target is poisoned for 1 round.

On a failed saving throw you deposit the summoned abyssal parasite into your target, causing them disadvantage on Dexterity and Charisma checks as it twists and deforms a part of their body into its new permanent home. If the parasite is removed or destroyed the target’ s body reverts to normal, leaving no evidence of the parasite.

The parasite, a pitifully weak creature, can be removed in several ways.

A successful Medicine check with a DC equal to the spell’s save DC + 5 can remove the parasite and takes 4 hours of work.

A casting of Remove Curse destroys the parasite, as does a casting of Regeneration.
