Curse

Transmutation cantrip

Casting time: 1 action

Range:120 feet

Components:V, S

Duration:Instantaneous

You place a curse on a creature you can see, within range. The target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, the spell has no effect.

Choose one effect. The effect lasts until you use an Action to end the curse or until the creature is affected by remove curse. Curses do not stack and a creature can only have a number of curse effects from one source affecting them at a time, depending on your level; one from 1st level, two from 5th level, three from 11th level, and four from 17th level.

  • Animal Antipathy. Any creature the target wishes to ride must first make a successful Wisdom save.
  • Crippling Curse. The creature’s movement speed is reduced by 5 feet, to a minimum of 5.
  • Bad Bowels. The creature exudes a strong smell. Creatures tracking it using scent do so with advantage if the creature passed through the area within the hour.
  • Irresistible Gravity. The creature must use all of its movement and an Action to stand up from prone.
  • Light Blindness. When the creature moves from a dark area to an area with a brighter illumination it is blinded until the start of its next turn.
  • Night Blindness. When the creature moves from an area of bright illumination to a darker area it is blinded until the start of its next turn.
  • Night Terrors. The creature must take special precautions to get a full night’s sleep, such as using a sleeping tonic or soothing magic. Otherwise, it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or gain a level of exhaustion from lack of sleep. The creature can’t gain a total of more than two levels of exhaustion from night terrors.
  • Warts. The creature sprouts ugly warts on their nose. They take a -1 penalty on Charisma skill checks made face to face with other creatures.
  • Weak Blood. When the creature takes slashing damage, it must succeed on a Constitution save or take 1d4 damage at the start of its next turn.
