This spell operates as the darkness spell except that any creature that enters or is within the radius of darkness must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or have disadvantage on saving throws against the Frightened and Demoralized conditions while within the area of darkness. If an affected creature leaves the area of darkness the disadvantage remains for 1d4 rounds but resumes anytime the creature enters the darkness again. A creature that succeeds on the saving throw is immune to the disadvantage effect for the duration of the spell.
