Frightful Steed

You momentarily open a gate to the lower planes and summon forth a terrifying steed. The steed uses the game statistics of a nightmare, and appears on the ground in an unoccupied space of your choice within range. For the spell’s duration, you and only you can mount the steed. On your turn, you can issue verbal commands to the steed (no action required), which it must follow to the best of its ability. The steed is an intelligent creature under the control of the GM, rolls its own initiative, and has its own turns. It bears riders of evil alignment willingly, but will struggle against others. If you are of a non-evil alignment, the steed can roll a Wisdom Saving throw against your spell save DC at the end of 4 hours, as well as at the end of each hour thereafter. On a success, the steed breaks free of your control and the spell ends. The spell also ends if the steed reaches 0 hit points, you cast the spell again, or you use an action to dismiss it. When the spell ends, the steed disappears in a flash of smoke and flame. If you are riding the steed when it disappears, you fall to the ground and must succeed on a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 fire damage and fall prone.
