Hydraulic Torrent

3rd-level conjuration

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Self (60-foot line or 30-foot cone)

Components: V, S

Duration: Instantaneous

Class(es): druid, sorcerer, wizard

You call forth a powerful stream of water that batters all creatures and obstacles in its path, while also extinguishing any non-magical fires in its area. You can shape the hydraulic torrent as a line 60 feet long and 5 feet wide or as a 30-foot cone. Each creature in the area must make a Strength saving throw. A creature takes 5d6 bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. In addition, creatures failing their save are pushed 10 feet away from you. Movable objects also are pushed away as if you had succeeded on a Strength check with a result of 10 plus your spell attack bonus. A floating object that is not secured is pushed away to the end of the hydraulic torrent’s area. If a water vessel is being actively controlled, its pilot can make a proficiency (water vehicles) check in place of a saving throw to avoid being moved, with disadvantage on the save if the vessel is 10 feet or smaller. This spell can be used to accomplish non-harmful effects that a surging wave of water could perform (GM’s discretion), though water created by this spell evaporates 1 round after it is used, leaving only residual dampness behind.
