Life Blast

3rd-level necromancy

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Self (80-foot line)

Components: V, S, M (a dead leaf )

Duration: Instantaneous

Classes: cleric, druid, ranger

You draw the life force from the surrounding land and hurl it at your enemies in a line 100 feet long and 5 feet wide in a direction you choose. Creatures in this line take 8d6 radiant damage, or half as much on a successful Wisdom saving throw. However, leaching the life energy from the land causes all ordinary vegetation within 20 feet of you to wither and die. Plant creatures within this area take 2d6 necrotic damage, or half as much with a successful Wisdom saving throw. A plant creature within 20 feet that is in the path of the life blast makes only one saving throw, taking half damage from both effects on a success.

Trees greater than 1 foot thick are not destroyed by a life blast. This spell cannot be cast if there is not at least 100 square feet of vegetation within 20 feet of you.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you increase the length of the line by 10 feet and the radius of the plant-withering effect by 5 feet for each level above 3rd.
