On a hit, the target takes necrotic damage equal to 4d6 + the number of hit points you used for this spell. The number of hit points you use for this spell cannot exceed your current hit points.

If you fall unconscious as a result of using your hit points in this way, you automatically succeed on the attack before falling unconscious.
