A four-inch-diameter cactus ball with one-inch-long needles streaks toward a target in range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 2d8 piercing damage and the ball sticks to the target. The target or another creature within five feet of the target can use an action to remove the cactus ball. Unless removed, the target takes 1d8 piercing damage at the end of each of its next two turns.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the initial damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st level, while the secondary damage increases by 1d8 for every two slot levels above 1st.
