Piercing Rain

2nd-level evocation

Casting Time:1 action

Range:Self

Components:V, S

Duration:Instantaneous

A rain cloud comes to form in your hand out of which raindrops rapidly spurt along a 5-foot wide, 30-foot long line in a direction of your choice. Each creature within the line must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d8 piercing damage and it becomes wet. It is thus vulnerable to cold damage until the start of your next turn. On a successful save, the damage is halved and the target isn’t vulnerable to cold damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
