Describe an object that is familiar to you. If the object is within range, you receive a counter ping, alerting you to its presence.

If more than one object fitting your description is present, multiple pings will be received, alerting you to roughly how many are around.

This spell can’t locate an object if any thickness of lead, even a thin sheet, blocks a direct path between you and the object.

When casting the spell, the caster may restrict the range if they wish to any amount less than the maximum.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the range is doubled for each higher level used.
