Ravenwight

4th-level necromancy (cleric. Sorcerer, warlock, wizard)

Casting Time 1 action

Range 120 feet

Components S M (a raven’ s feather and talon

Duration 1 week

You fill a target creature with dread, fearful that death is around every corner, haunted by the image of menacing spectral raven. The target makes a Wisdom saving throw or else they become haunted by the vision of a large shadowy raven, gripping them with fear during their waking hours and denying them restful sleep. If they succeed at this initial Wisdom saving throw they are frightened for 1 minute.

Upon failing the initial Wisdom saving throw and at the beginning of each hour the target sees a vision of the raven nearby (somewhere visible within 30 ft in a random direction), and they must make another Wisdom saving throw or be frightened and unable to move in the direction of the spectral creature for the remainder of the hour. They can circumvent the raven by walking around it in a wide arc, but they can get no closer than the distance at which it first appeared. Success means they are still frightened but may approach. However, if they end their turn adjacent to the ravenwight they take 3d6 necrotic damage as their life force is disrupted. The creature must also make a Wisdom saving throw when it completes a long rest, failure means it has 1 level of exhaustion and does not gain the benefits of the long rest. The exhaustion does not stack, but is replaced each time the target takes a long rest. You may use an action to cause the ravenwight to appear in a square of your choice within 30 ft of the target.
