Reply Tracks

3rd-level divination (ritual)

Casting Time: 1 minute

Range: Self

Components: V, S

Duration: Concentration, up to 8 hours

Classes: druid, ranger

When you discover a creature’s track using a Wisdom (Perception) or Wisdom (Survival) check, you can reconstruct past events that occurred in your current location based on those tracks and signs left behind. Replay tracks allows you to see a phantasmal replay of those events, either in the order they happened in real time or in reverse, depending on whether you are following the tracks forward or backward. The images you see are faded and translucent, showing general appearance but not clear enough to make out details or colors that might reveal a creature’s exact identity. These visions are also wholly visual; you gain no other sensory information.

You can continue concentrating on this spell while moving and making additional Wisdom (Survival) checks to track creatures, and if you discover new tracks, you can focus your attention on them and use replay tracks to view the creature that made them and follow its movements.

Creatures that leave no tracks, such as flying or incorporeal creatures or those using pass without trace, are absent from the events you visualize using replay tracks.
