Rotting Curse

4th-level transmutation (cleric, sorcerer, warlock, wizard)

Casting Time 1 action

Range Touch

Components V S

Duration Concentration, up to 1 minute

The vile curse causes the subject’s flesh and bones to rot. The subject must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the subject takes disadvantage on all Constitution checks, skill checks that use Constitution and Constitution saving throws. While cursed, the target takes 1d10 necrotic damage per round, which can be halved with a successful Constitution saving throw. If the target succeeds on their initial saving throw, they are still impacted by the cursed energy and have disadvantage on Constitution-related rolls for 1 round.

At Higher Levels. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the Duration is Concentration, up to 10 minutes. If you use a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the Duration is 8 hours. If you use a spell slot of 8th level or higher, the Duration is 24 hours. If you use a 9th level spell slot, the spell lasts until it is dispelled. Using a spell slot of 6th level or higher grants a Duration that doesn’t require Concentration.
