You make a small cut on your body and a larger wound appears on the target. You take 1 point of damage and the target takes 1d8 necrotic damage. The target must then make a Constitution saving throw or be overwhelmed with the pain. On a failed saving throw, the subject is poisoned due to the pain until the end of your next turn.

At Higher Levels. This spell’s damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).
