Snapdragon Fireworks

2nd-level evocation

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: 500 feet

Components: V, S

Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

Classes: bard, sorcerer, wizard

You create fireworks in the shapes of tiny dragons, flowers, or almost anything you like. Each round as a bonus action, you may launch a firework on a zigzag path to strike a 5-foot-square, erupting with a bright flash and a loud bang and dealing 1d4 fire damage and 1d4 thunder damage, or half as much on a successful Dexterity saving throw.

Creatures failing their saving throw against a firework are dazzled by their brightness, taking a -1 penalty on attack rolls, AC, and Wisdom (Perception) checks for 1 round.

Each round you continue concentrating, you may launch another firework, and you can change their coloration or appearance each time.

This spell is very popular at pastoral halfling celebrations and feasts, especially around midsummer. Normally when this spell is used as part of a festival, the chosen target is high in the sky to increase visibility and protect observers.
