When cast, a translucent die representing the whims of fate appears in the air next to the caster. When you are hit with an attack, roll 1d6 and reduce the damage of the attack by the number rolled on the die. If you roll a 1 on the d6, the spell ends early.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the die size rolled increases with the spells level: a d8 with a 2nd level slot, a d10 with a 3rd level spell slot, and a d12 with a 4th level spell slot.
