You fill a target with such profound remorse that it believes it deserves pain and punishment. The target pays less attention to its enemies, reducing its AC by 2. In addition, each round the target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or use its bonus action to harm itself, dealing bludgeoning damage (or piercing or slashing damage, if it has a weapon of that type in hand) based on its size. If the target succeeds on its saving throw in consecutive rounds, the spell ends.
