You infuse your arrows with the venomous essence of the viper. The next time you hit with a ranged weapon attack, the target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes an additional 5d8 poison damage and is poisoned until the spell ends. On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and is not poisoned.

Targets who are poisoned may make an additional Constitution saving throw at the end of each of their turns. On a success, the spell ends on the target.
