Wall of Smoke

2nd-level evocation

Casting Time:1 action
Range:120 feet
Components:V, S, M (a small piece of copal)
Duration:Concentration, up to 1 minute

You create a wall of thick, black smoke on a solid surface within range. You can make the wall up to 60 feet long, 20 feet high, and five feet thick, or a ringed wall up to 20 feet in diameter, 20 feet high, and five feet thick. The wall is opaque and cannot be dispersed by high winds despite being composed of wispy vapors. It is also difficult terrain. If the wall cuts through a creature’s space when it appears, the creature within its area must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed Constitution saving throw, a creature takes 2d8 necrotic damage and is blinded by the smoke. The creature takes half as much damage on a successful Constitution saving throw and is not blinded. A creature who enters the wall for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there must make a Constitution saving throw. It takes 2d8 necrotic damage and is blinded by the smoke on a failure. The creature takes half as much damage on a successful Constitution saving throw and is not blinded. At the end of each of its turns, a blinded creature can make another Constitution saving throw. On a success, the creature is no longer blinded.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
