While wearing this ring, you have advantage on saving throws to resist becoming frightened. In addition, once per day when you fail a saving throw to resist being frightened, you can ignore the condition for a number of rounds equal to your proficiency bonus.

Once this time elapses, you become frightened until the duration of the effect ends.
