Hank’s Ranger Bow

Weapon (shortbow or longbow), artifact, attunement optional

Six artifacts that were created for a group of teens that is said, “came from a strange plane of existence,” looking for a passage home. The children have long since gone home, but the artifacts remain and can be found by a lucky adventurer.

This magical yellow +1 bow has the ability to change into a short bow or long bow at will. It is very unique in nature as it doesn’t have a bowstring — when taking an action with this bow, it creates a string of energy and a magical arrow that deals an additional 1d6 points of bludgeoning or force damage (your choice at the time that you make the attack) with each attack.

If attuned, the bow takes a symbiotic relationship with you. At 5th level and every 5 levels thereafter, the bow generates a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls (max of +5 at 20th level)

Ranger Attunement: If attuned to a Ranger, the bow gives you a keen insight on opposing creatures. As a bonus action you may “mark” a single opposing creature within 60 feet. You gain a +2 bonus to all attack rolls against the marked creature when using this bow for the attack. You may only mark one creature at a time. Furthermore, a critical hit against the marked creature deals an additional 2d6 points of Thunder damage.
