ABOUT

Chamelequines are a breed of pony native to Oz that evolved with the ability to change colors, blending into their surroundings to elude predators. When roving and grazing, they can match the colors of the scrub, woods, and moors in most parts of Oz, favoring colors in earth tones. During mating season, the males adopt dazzling displays of kaleidoscopic colors, as seen through raindrops on a sunny day. Female chamelequines generally keep to subtler colors, but when in season their manes and tails will shimmer and match the foliage the region.

Chamelequines speak the Common tongue of Oz, and view draft and farm horses as being unjustly subjugated.

While they may be bribed or convinced to carry a rider a short distance, they will not submit to any bindings, saddles or other riding aids.
